Growing Into You

Growing Into You supports teens aged 11–16 to understand puberty, hormones and wellbeing in a calm, respectful way. With clear explanations and practical support, it helps young people feel informed, reassured and supported through body and brain changes.

Growing Into You

A holistic guide to puberty, hormones & wellbeing

Puberty doesn’t need to be confusing, frightening, or medicalised. It is a time of huge physical, emotional, and hormonal change — yet many young people are given very little support to understand what’s happening inside their bodies.

Growing Into You is a warm, science-based course for pre-teens/teens aged 11–16 that explains what’s happening in their changing bodies and how to support those changes naturally through nutrition, lifestyle, and self-care.

Created by Nutritional Therapist Zillah Smart, this course helps young people:

  • Understand puberty and hormones without embarrassment

  • Learn what’s normal (and when to ask for help)

  • Support skin, mood, energy, and emotional wellbeing

  • Build healthy habits that last far beyond the teenage years

  • Develop body awareness, respect, and self-trust

Available as live online group sessions or a self-led course, Growing Into You gives teens the knowledge and tools many of us wish we’d had growing up — calm, empowering, and grounded in real science.

Because puberty isn’t a problem to “fix” ,

it’s a journey to understand and support.

What the course covers: module overview

Rather than medicalising normal puberty experiences or brushing symptoms aside, this course focuses on body literacy — helping teens recognise what’s normal, what their body is communicating, and how everyday habits like food, sleep, movement, and stress affect how they feel.

Module 1: Your Changing Body & Brain
What puberty is, why bodies and brains change, and why everyone develops at a different pace.

Module 2: Hormones, Growth & Changing Bodies
How hormones affect growth, mood, energy and sleep, with two pathways covering the menstrual cycle or testosterone-led development.

Module 3: Nourishing Your Hormones
How food supports growing bodies and brains, including key nutrients and healthy eating without restriction.

Module 4: Skin, Mood & Energy
Understanding common puberty symptoms, what’s normal, what helps naturally, and when to ask for support.

Module 5: Lifestyle Habits for a Healthy You
How sleep, stress, movement and motivation work together to shape how you feel.

Module 6: Putting It All Together
How listening to the body and building balance helps create confidence in your own rhythm.

Module 7: Body Image, Social Media & Self-Worth
Building body respect, reducing comparison, and protecting self-worth in a social-media-driven world.
